The 2020 Hyundai Elantra gets the same BS6 diesel engine that does duty in the 2020 Hyundai Creta and the 2020 Hyundai Verna.

Hyundai
Motor India today launched the BS6 Elantra diesel for
an introductory price of Rs 18.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The automobile
manufacturer has also slashed the BS6 Elantra petrol prices, with the gasoline
trim now starting at Rs 17.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 2020 Hyundai
Elantra takes on the likes of Skoda Octavia and Honda
Civic.
The BS6 diesel engine
powering the 2020 Hyundai Elantra is the same 1.5-litre U2 CRDi unit that does
duty in the 2020 Hyundai Creta and
the 2020 Hyundai Verna. The mill produces 115PS
and 250Nm of peak torque and has 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT options. The BS6
petrol engine in the 2020 Hyundai Elantra is a 2.0-litre Nu unit that churns
out 152PS and 192Nm of maximum torque and is offered with 6-speed MT and
6-speed AT choices.
The new Hyundai Elantra is
now available in only two variants -- SX and SX(O).

The new Hyundai Elantra
showcases the automaker's 'Fluidic Sculpture 2.0'
design. There are LED quad projector headlamps with LED DRLs flanking the
hexagonal chrome radiator grille. At the rear, you will find combination LED
tail lamps and two-tone bumper. Also available are features like shark fin
antenna and 16-inch alloy wheels. The cabin of the 2020 Hyundai Elantra is
loaded with bells and whistles like 10-way power-adjustable driver seat,
dual-zone automatic AC, tilt and telescopic steering, steering mounted
controls, auto cruise control, 8-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system and
electric sunroof. The vehicle is also equipped with the Hyundai Blue Link
connectivity technology that has 34 features, out of which 10 are India
specific.
