About
a week ago, the theft was revealed by the police on Thursday in Agarsanda
village of Fafna police station area adjacent to the city. The police have
arrested four thieves involved in the incident near the junior high school in
Ekouni village. A stolen licensee gun, jewel, cash as well as two pistols
were recovered from them. Police also arrested a shopkeeper who bought
stolen jewelry.
On
the night of 26 June, the thief licensed gun, jewelry and cash was stolen by
breaking the grill of Vikram Upadhyay, a retired employee of the irrigation
department, Agarsanda resident. Police was looking for the thieves. Meanwhile,
SO (Fafna) Sasimuli Pandey was informed that some vicious criminals are busy in
the verandah of junior high school behind Pahalwan Baba temple in Ekouni
village for the purchase of stolen licensee gun. Police laid siege and
arrested Chhattu Banwasi, Suresh Banwasi and Sanoj Banwasi, resident of Mujahi
village of the police station area and Subhash Mushar, resident of Nonia
Chhapra township of Sukhpura police station area. Some other items were
recovered along with the stolen goods. The head of the gang is Chhattu
Banavasi.
The
thieves told the police that the stolen ornaments were sold for 32 thousand to
the shopkeeper Brijkishore Koiri of Bahadurpur (Devakali). The police have
arrested Brijkishore. The police team consisted of Mangla Prasad Upadhyay,
Balram Tiwari, Ratnakar Singh, besides SI Dashrath Upadhyay and Yogendra Singh
Yadav.
