North
Korean leader Kim Jong Un has again claimed that there is not a single case of
Kovid-19 in North Korea. According to the Korean Central News Agency
(KCNA), at a party meeting on Thursday, he said that despite the health crisis
in the world, the country has kept the risk of infection. Simultaneously,
Kim Jong has asked the authorities to be vigilant about the Corona virus
epidemic and warned that a slight negligence could lead to a major crisis.
Although North Korea has
been repeatedly claiming that there has not been a single case of infection,
other countries are not confident of this claim, given the poor health
facilities and proximity to China.
North Korea shut down all
traffic on the border earlier this year to prevent the corona virus. Restrictions
were imposed on the arrival of tourists and people were kept separate if any
symptoms were found. Experts say the lockdown imposed in the country has
had an impact on the economy.
The country is already
facing US sanctions because of nuclear weapons and missile programs. According
to KCNA, during the Worker's Party Politburo meeting, Kim insisted on taking
maximum vigilance without any easing, as the infection continues to spread in
neighboring countries.
